Dr. Desiree Prescot
Dr. Desiree Prescott, adjunct professor of undergraduate business, defended her dissertation on April 4. It was titled Examining the Relationships Between Key Work Factors and Turnover Intention among Millennials in the Private Sector: A Quantitative Analysis. She earned her Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Administration from CBU.
Carie Guzman
Carie Guzman, senior undergraduate online admissions counselor/recruiter, received the Regional Service Award – Southwest at the NACCAP (North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals) National Conference at Houston Christian University on May 28.

- $25,000 gift to an existing endowed scholarship fund for the School of Performing Arts, to be matched by a private donor, and then matched again by CBU institutional funds – quadrupling the investment in CBU
- $20,000 gift to the College of Engineering Society of Automotive Engineers fund
- $16,392 gift to an existing endowed scholarship fund for students in the College of Nursing, to be matched by a private donor, and then matched again by CBU institutional funds – quadrupling the investment in CBU

Campus News
AB Miller STEM Students
CBU Aviation Department hosted 150 AB Miller High School STEM students on June 19, allowing them to explore how science, technology, engineering and mathematics are applied in every facet of modern aviation. The students toured CBU’s fleet of 24 general aviation aircraft. They sat in cockpits, observed preflight inspections, and gained a foundational understanding of how pilots use STEM knowledge. The students also experienced flight in simulators, toured the aircraft maintenance areas and were introduced to CBU’s computer-based training platforms.
3 Pasos' Summer Bridge
Nearly 40 students participated in the 3 Pasos’ Summer Bridge program at CBU. Two cohorts – one made up of high school students and the other of incoming college freshmen – attended the program for three weeks in June. The bridge program included lectures and hands-on projects, including learning about aerodynamics, buoyancy, economics, adsorption, trusses and much more within STEM topics.

Ellery Elise Liardon
McKenna Liardon, associate director of Residence Life, and her husband, Ian, welcomed a daughter on June 12. Ellery Elise Liardon weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 21.25 inches. She joins her sister, Emberlynn, 2.
Abraham Herzog and T.J. Herzog
Abraham Herzog, son of T.J. Herzog, coordinator for academic operations in Academic Affairs, earned his first degree black belt in taekwondo on June 27. Abraham is 12.
