He also chaired the Education and Pedagogy Committee meeting. National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology conference in New Orleans on Jan. 19-23.
Making an Impact
National Stuttering Association
Johanna Pulliam, instructor of communication sciences and disorders, co-leads the National Stuttering Association Riverside Family Chapter, which meets on the Health Science campus. She helped organize a screening of This is Stuttering, a documentary about Morgan Lott, who stutters and made the film when he was a film major at Biola University. Lott attended the screening on Jan. 26 and answered questions. Attendees included seven families, undergraduate and graduate students and a volunteer from the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.
Dr. John Marselus
Dr. John Marselus, professor of aviation science, led discussions on Vision, Mission, and Values for the Jungle Aviation and Relay Service (JAARS) Board Retreat at First Southern Church in Oklahoma City on Jan. 23-25. Board members include U.S. Rep. Steve Russell and Grace Townsend, daughter of Cam Townsend who was the founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators, Summer Institute of Linguistics, and JAARS.

Christine Smith, lecturer of photography, curated Now is Always, an exhibition at Biola University's Bardwell Project Space. The artists include CBU photography seniors Amanda Barrier and Hannah Okamoto, alumna Chloe Daniels and Smith. The exhibition is through March 28.

Students and alumni from the Communication Arts Department, Lancer Media Group and CAVAD held a Help Portrait event on Jan. 22 at Teen Challenge, a Christian nonprofit that offers residential treatment for substance abuse. The team of volunteers, led by Sonya Singh, instructor of journalism, made free headshots for nearly 50 men. They send the photos home to family or use them as they apply for jobs after graduating from the program.

Derik Marcello Rodriguez
Dr. Brittany Lytle-Rodriguez, assistant professor of social work, and her husband, Erik, welcomed a son on Jan. 10. Derik Marcello Rodriguez weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. He joins brothers Elijah, 10, and Sebastian, 1.
