Books
Dr. Melissa Croteau, professor of film studies, wrote a chapter for Global King Lear: Crisis, Performance, Adaptation. The chapter was titled Leave the Brits, Take the Shakespeare: Echoing “King Lear,” Banishing British Blood, and Indigenizing Shakespeare in “36 Chowringhee Lane” (Bloomsbury, 2024).

Dr. Joshua Knabb, professor of psychology, was interviewed on The Debrief Podcast with Matt Brown, pastor of Sandals Church. The episode was titled Can God Heal My Anxiety? A Deep Dive into Faith and Fear with Dr. Joshua Knabb.
Professional Accolades
Janet Hernandez, senior student accounts counselor, was named employee of the month for December. Her nomination included the following statements: “Janet is compassionate, patient and has a genuine heart for serving others. She takes time to listen and shows she cares when helping students. She is always willing to help others and make them feel appreciated. Janet regularly provides feedback and suggestions to improve processes and policies in our department. Her consistent effort in this area has positively impacted the student experience.”

Student Highlights
Photographs by Eileen Solorzano and Josiah Grant, photography students, and David Fouts, adjunct professor of photography, were selected for Untitled, a one-night exhibition in San Diego at the Bread & Salt Gallery on Dec. 14. Their five photos will be part of the 20 chosen for the event.
Colleen Mullane and Sydney Peters, undergraduates in communication sciences and disorders, conducted a research project under the supervision of Dr. Namhee Kim, professor of communication sciences and disorders, and Mercy Homer, assistant professor of communication sciences and disorders. They presented their research at Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research held at Cal State University, San Bernardino on Nov. 23.
Personal Milestones
C.J. Wood, chemistry lab instructor, earned her Single Subject Teaching Credential in chemistry on Nov. 14.
