Gina Palmieri

Gina Palmieri, manager of admissions recruiting events for enrollment services, was named employee of the month for April. Her nomination included the following statements: “Gina consistently delivers exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to ensure every prospective student, parent, group leader and walk-in feels valued and supported. ... Her reliability strengthens team productivity and builds trust across the workplace. Gina’s willingness to act independently shows strong judgment, creativity and ownership of her work. On March 13, the College of Nursing hosted the National Avkin Simulation Conference on campus, welcoming approximately 65 simulation professionals from across the U.S. This conference focused on the use of Avkin’s wearable simulation technology to enhance clinical decision-making in healthcare education.

The Career Center is hosting a Just in Time Career and Internship Fair and would love help spreading the word. Raymond Carrillo Ceja

Raymond Carrillo Ceja, physician assistant graduate student, was chosen as a fellow for The East Los Angeles Community Union (TELACU) Foundation and awarded a scholarship. In this position, he will provide mentoring to undergraduate pre-PA students, conducting monthly check-ins to provide a wide range of advice and guidance as they navigate their personal care experiences and extracurriculars within their PA applications.

Darren Moorman, storyteller in residence for the College of Architecture, Visual Arts and Design, invited a group of CAVAD students to a private screening of his upcoming film, No Limbs, No Limits: The Nick V Story. Set to release in September, the film captures the story of Nick Vujicic, a world-renowned motivational speaker. The screening took place on March 11 at the Lido Theatre in Newport Beach, followed by a live conversation between Vujicic and Moorman and a Q&A.
