Academic Areas & Scholarly Interests
Dr. Whitfield started as an oncology nurse, and then transitioned into hospice nursing, and end-of-life care. Dr. Whitfield decided to take her passion for those who are weak and vulnerable overseas to serve in a cross-cultural and global context. While overseas, she worked in a medical clinic, visited people in their homes, prayed with them, and cared for dying patients. She also became a key Strategic Team Leader in the area where she served, with a focus on Community Development and helped implement numerous project improvement plans.
Teaching Experience at Institutions Other than CBU
Dr. Whitfield taught English as a second language overseas before going back to school to become a nurse.
