Dr. Whitfield decided to take her passion for those who are weak and vulnerable overseas to serve in a cross-cultural and global context. While overseas, she worked in a medical clinic, visited people in their homes, prayed with them, and cared for dying patients. She also became a key Strategic Team Leader in the area where she served, with a focus on Community Development and helped implement numerous project improvement plans.
