Dr. Linda-Marie Sundstrom has been teaching American Government and Public Administration at the undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels for more than 20 years. Prior to that she worked for government, tribal government and nonrprofit organizations. She was a Fulbright Scholar through the U.S. State Department and she taught in eastern Ukraine at a university under the office of the Ukrainian President.

Assistance League – Foothill Communities 2024 – Present
The Assistance League has been serving children and families in Inland Empire communities since 1953. Through Operation School Bell, they have dressed thousands of students in grades K-12 from eight local school districts. Their Fostering New Beginnings program helps many young adults as they transition from foster care and start out on their own. As a volunteer, I work in fundraising capacities and participate in a variety of outreach programs.

United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, 2021 – 2024
Promote and improve recreational boating safety, augment the Coast Guard and enhance safety and security of United States ports, waterways, and coastal regions. Support Coast Guard operational, administrative, and logistical requirements.

National Weather Service: SkyWarn Weather Spotter, 2019 – 2021
Skywarn is a nationwide network of volunteer weather spotters who report to and are trained by the National Weather Service (NWS). The volunteers are activated whenever there is a threat of severe weather. Spotters are trained to report using the Amateur Radio Controller, and all other forms of emergency communication.

Queen Mary Wireless Radio Room Volunteer
Amateur Radio Operator, 2017 – 2018
The Wireless Radio Room on the historic Queen Mary is staffed by FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operators to make radio contacts around the world, and provide a hands-on experience for tourists to learn about radio communications, Morse Code, and the critical use of the Amateur Radio Service in the event of an emergency.

Riverside County Amateur Radio Association (RCARA)
Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator/Volunteer Examiner (VE), 2017 – Present
The RCARA volunteers provide radio communication services for community events and emergency preparedness services. Volunteers maintain weekly radio exercises and assists local government agencies with their emergency communication needs, as well as education and testing services for community members wishing to receive their FCC Amateur Radio License.

San Bernardino County Fire Department Volunteer
Emergency Communication Service, 2016 - 2020
The Emergency Communications Service (ECS) is the front line communications, technical and logistical support arm for the San Bernardino County Fire’s Office of Emergency Services (OES), and is the single largest Operational Division within San Bernardino County Fire. This organization is tasked with the support and maintenance of critical incident communications in times of emergency.

TriCity Auxiliary Communication Service (ACS) provides emergency communications support to the cities of Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland, California.
