Office of Field Education
Vision/Mission
The Office of Field Education is committed to educating, equipping and empowering prospective and current social workers to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities. The vision of the Office of Field Education is realized through its partnerships with community-based agencies committed to addressing the grand challenges of social work, as initiated by the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare.
Purpose
The Office of Field Education includes the operations of the MSW and BSW Field Education programs. It provides support and consultation to department faculty, students, and field agencies regarding field instruction-related issues. Major activities include:
- Development, evaluation, and support of field agency partnerships and contracts
- Oversight of student field instruction and placement
- Provision of field training, workshops, and continuing education for Field Instructors, Preceptors, and community partners
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to field education
