Graduation Day

Graduate Arrival 
- Traditional Undergraduate & RN-BSN: Check-in at 11:30am for the 1pm ceremony.
- Graduate & Online Professional Studies (except RN-BSN): Check-in at 5:30pm for the 7pm ceremony. 
Graduates should plan to arrive 15 minutes before check-in to allow time to park and walk. 

Arena Parking & Security
Please park in Lot C. The Graduate entrance is at the southwest corner in front of lot C and to the left of the Admin Entrance. Click Here for Map. Citizens Business Bank Arena has metal detectors at all entrances, and everyone entering the arena will be subject to screening. Click here to see a complete list of prohibited items.

Personal Items
There will not be a place to store your personal items and they must be kept with you at all times. Please bring only what you absolutely need. Beach balls, horns, balloons, etc. will not be allowed in the Arena.

Graduates Needing Special Assistance
Graduates who have physical needs, have difficulty walking climbing steps, walking, or are in need of any kind of accommodation should email
commencement@calbaptist.edu by April 14. Our desire is to accommodate all graduates to the best of our ability.

Dress Code
Men should wear dark slacks and dress shoes under their regalia and remove their caps during prayer. Women should wear dress shoes with their outfit. Graduation candidates should arrive dressed in their complete regalia - cap, gown, tassel, honor society cords for those who are members, and hoods for master's students.

Graduate Check-In
Upon arrival, Graduates will receive:

  • Walking Card
  • Honors cords (for bachelor's candidates with GPA 3.5 or higher)
  • Great Commission Stoles (for those who are eligible)
  • Dressing assistance as needed
  • Pre-ordered Leis
  • Picture Opportunities

Graduate Line-up and Rehearsal
Next, graduates will be directed downstairs to line-up. Graduates are permitted to line up and sit next to any graduates they chose. Graduates are not seated alphabetically or by discipline. However, Master's and Bachelor's students are seated separately. 

After graduates are lined up, a quick 15 minute rehearsal will give graduates ceremony instructions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Graduation Candidates will NOT be permitted to leave the arena floor for any reason until all the graduates recess out together following the ceremony.
