The mission of the CBU College of Nursing is to educate competent, responsible, caring and professional nurses prepared from a biblical worldview to serve locally, nationally and globally, revering the human dignity of all persons created in the image of God.

CBU students, both undergraduate and graduate, serve in many ways and in many locations. They serve locally by donating their time, resources and care through community outreach programs such as serving food to the homeless. They help distribute clothing and food to underserved children at the Fred Jordan Mission. They participate in disaster preparedness training at the Great American Shakeout and travel overseas to work alongside nationals in education and health training. CBU students are globally engaged.

Biblical Mandate

For God so loved the world. We are asked to be caught up in His work and glorify Him as we go out into the world. We are asked to serve Him and love others, using our gifts and talents to serve the least of these. Love your neighbor but who is my neighbor? Jesus told us that all peoples (ethne) are our neighbors. We are to walk alongside people in their suffering, in their joy and anywhere He leads.

… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

Caring for the Vulnerable

How can we make a difference? Serving others is sacred work and we can care for those who are suffering with grace, care, compassion and love.

CBU students serve in the local, national, and global community by caring for the homeless, the vulnerable, and those who are marginalized.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. … As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Matthew 25:35–40

Global Health Trends

Graduate students evaluate emerging global trends, religions and cultures, millennium development goals, universal access to education, care and education (infrastructure), local and global health disparities and vulnerable populations within the community.

We can end poverty, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health and combat preventable diseases. For more information, visit the following sites:
