SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, M.S.

"I think everyone should learn coding because it also teaches us how to think. I am glad that I came to CBU because it helped me a lot to increase my technical knowledge, and today I am happily working as a software developer."

Why did you choose this graduate degree program? What interested you in this particular field of study?
My background was in computer science and I enjoy developing new software. This graduate degree program helped me gain more knowledge in software development.

What did you like about being in this program at CBU?
What I liked the most is the professors’ support. Professors supported me a lot during this program and I am so grateful for that. I came from a different country and I was the first International student who graduated as a software engineer from CBU. But at CBU I felt very comfortable.

What did you think about your professors?
Professors were so flexible. They helped me at each single point when I needed them. Even if I didn’t understand something during class they explained it to me during office hours, and that is so nice of them.

Did you complete any field work?
Yes, I did field work at one of the engineering companies in Riverside named Brenner-Fiedler & Assoc. I worked there as an IT intern. It was such a great experience for me since I was an international student at CBU.

How did you grow while in this program at CBU?
I grow a lot because I never had real world experience, but since I was in CBU I got field work in one of the engineering companies as a software developer and that helped me a lot in gaining knowledge as a software developer. At CBU I had web development, mobile app development and software development methodology classes which also helped me a lot in exploring new development techniques.

What have you done since graduating?
One of the big achievement was I got a job as a software developer right away after finishing my graduation at CBU.

How has your time at CBU prepared you for your life and career after grad school?
During the program I grow a lot as a software developer, but I also grow a lot as a person. I learned a lot of things from my professors and from other students at CBU.

How are you making a difference in the world?
I think everyone should learn coding because it also teaches us how to think. I am glad that I came to CBU because it helped me a lot to increase my technical knowledge, and today I am happily working as a software developer.

Would you recommend CBU to others?
I highly recommend CBU to all my friends and family friends because the experience that I got at CBU as an international student was incredible.
