Introduction

New Student Orientation (NSO) is a single-day event that is programmed to give new students the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of CBU from staff, faculty and current students. We know that the transition into college can sometimes be overwhelming, but we are committed to making sure new Lancers are set up for success as they begin their time at CBU.

About NSO

There will be three opportunities (*dates listed above) to attend New Student Orientation this summer and experience what life is like as a Lancer. NSO comes at NO additional cost. New students and their two guests will learn about CBU’s campus and traditions, receive critical resources that will set them up for success and meet other Lancers, all on our beautiful campus.

Students can take care of a few tasks that will make their Welcome Weekend check-in smoother, including taking their ID photo and picking up their CBU ID (available 7:30-8:15 a.m. and during breaks). Students can also visit the Safety Services table to register a car (please know the license plate number).

Plan on attending this event the entire morning. Lunch will be provided, and there will be time to take care of any outstanding business with offices on campus.

See the campus, meet the people and experience a day in the life of a Lancer at NSO!

What If I Am Unable to Attend an In-Person NSO?

Students must enroll in classes for fall before they can complete the online New Student Orientation module. Students are highly encouraged to attend an in-person orientation. However, we recognize that special circumstances might make it especially difficult for some students to travel to CBU’s campus in the summer. If you would like to complete an online orientation please click here to complete our request form.
