Biography
I’m originally from Cairo, Egypt. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Cairo University and earned my Master of Science in Industrial–Organizational Psychology from California Baptist University in 2022. During my OPT, I worked as an HR Generalist at InVitro Capital and its health-tech portfolio company, Curenta, where I later transitioned into a full-time role after graduation. I supported building the HR function from the ground up, focusing on organizational development, performance management and leadership initiatives. Following this, I moved into a business-focused role at the Chairman’s request, reflecting trusted advisory relationships and a strong understanding of organizational and commercial dynamics. I then advanced into a Senior Business Development Executive role at another healthcare portfolio company, AllCare for Coordinated Care Services, leading business development and strategic partnerships across Southern California. After four years with the same organization—from OPT through STEM extension—I recently accepted a Senior Business Development Executive role with a corporation of long-term care pharmacies.
Why CBU?
I learned about CBU while researching faith-based universities in California that offered strong academic programs combined with a values-driven environment. What stood out to me was CBU’s Christian foundation, the focus on purpose-driven leadership and the strong Industrial–Organizational Psychology program. As an international student, I was drawn to the sense of community, the supportive culture and the opportunity to integrate my professional goals with my faith.
CBU Experience
As an international student, I felt genuinely welcomed at CBU from the very beginning—starting with my interview with Dr. Iverson. I began my program during COVID while still abroad, and the International Center provided incredible support with documentation and guidance when embassy closures delayed my visa. Even while attending classes virtually, I experienced the warmth of CBU’s culture through my professors and cohort. As a Christian believer, starting classes with prayer created an immediate sense of safety and belonging. The approachable faculty and intentional community made my transition to life in the U.S. much smoother and fostered confidence, growth and connection.
Career Preparation
My education at CBU played a key role in shaping my career direction and professional mindset. The Industrial–Organizational Psychology program gave me a strong foundation in organizational behavior, leadership, performance management and applied research. Through CPT/OPT guidance and hands-on projects that mirrored real-world consulting and HR challenges, I was well prepared to support a startup in building its HR function from the ground up—even as a newcomer to the U.S. Following graduation, this foundation also strengthened my transition into business development and field strategy, allowing me to apply business psychology and data-driven insights directly to market-facing work.
Practical Skills
I regularly apply skills I developed at CBU, including job analysis, performance evaluation, stakeholder consulting, data-driven decision-making, leadership development and effective communication. The program strengthened my ability to think strategically while remaining people-centered—an approach I use daily in my work.
Return on Investment / Value
I strongly believe a CBU degree offers exceptional value for Egyptian and international students. The blend of academic rigor, practical application, spiritual grounding and career preparation made the investment of time and money truly worthwhile. CBU didn’t just give me a degree—it shaped my mindset, confidence and long-term professional direction.
Why would you recommend CBU to other students from Egypt?
Yes, I would absolutely recommend CBU to students from Egypt and other international backgrounds. Since graduating, I’ve received many questions from friends across Egypt and the Middle East, and I consistently recommend CBU and its master’s programs to them. CBU offers a unique experience that blends education, faith, leadership and real-world preparation within a supportive and welcoming community.
