Scholarships
Many international students at CBU receive some type of financial aid, and 100% of new Traditional Undergraduate International students receive institutional aid! Financial aid for international students is based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement at CBU. See our full list of scholarships below:
Incoming Freshmen*
Trustees Scholarship* - $18,000
4.0 GPA and above
College of Engineering Scholarships – Ranging from $500 to $5,000 per year

Journalism Scholarship – Up to $2,000 per year
Scholarships are available for Journalism majors and minors. For further information,

Public Relations Scholarship – Up to $2,000 per year
Scholarships are available for Public Relations majors and minors. For further information,

Speech and Debate Scholarship – Up to $2,000 per year
Scholarships are awarded based on participation in the CBU Speech and Debate Team.

Broadcast and Digital Media Production Scholarship – Up to $2,000 per year
Scholarships are awarded based on work for one or more of the following student media
productions: CBU TV, Lancers Noticias, and Lancer Sports. For futher information,

Christian Studies Double Major Scholarships - Up to $3,000 per year
For students who wish to major in Christian studies in addition to a major outside

School of Performing Arts Scholarships - Music & Theater
Auditions can be arranged throughout the year and virtually. Students are expected
to have prepared a selection that shows their range and ability. All styles are accepted.

343-4251. Theatre Scholarships are awarded up to $1,000 annually to participants in department productions,

College of Architecture, Visual Arts and Design Scholarships
Available for students interested in pursuing a degree in: architecture, illustration,
interior design, graphic design, film, photography, fine art, art therapy and art
education. For incoming freshman and transfer students, please contact International

Athletic Scholarships
Information regarding Lancer Athletics, available sports, and prospective recruitment,

CBU Promise
Incoming undergraduate international students beginning at CBU during the Fall 2026 semester or later are guaranteed at least $10,000 annually in CBU Gift aid.
Minister's Kin – $3,250 per year
The Minister’s Kin Scholarship assists the dependent undergraduate children of evangelical
ministers. The recipient must be the dependent child of a minister engaged in full-time service
as a pastor, chaplain or missionary. For further information, contact International

Multiple Sibling – $2,000 per year
For families with two or more members who are simultaneously attending the traditional
undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Siblings must legally be considered dependent.

Preferred District Scholarship
Student graduating from a preferred district high school and are an incoming student for CBU's undergraduate main campus program in Fall 2026 are guaranteed at least $12,000 in CBU Gift aid (does not stack with other institutional aid). Global Initiatives Grant

Private scholarships are those offered from organizations, foundations or companies, usually not affiliated with a university. Private donor scholarships are those offered from CBU donors and alumni. You can find many scholarships based on your personal traits, hobbies or planned major. The more effort you put into your search and applications, the more likely you are to get scholarships. Please note that not all private scholarships in the United States or private donor scholarships pertain to International students. Students should check eligibility for any scholarships.
