- Application for admission with a $45 application fee
- Official transcript from an accredited college or university reflecting the completion of a master’s degree.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on last 60/90 units. Additional opportunities may be available for a student to overcome an unsatisfactory GPA.
- In-person/virtual program interview.
- Written professional essay addressing the following:
- Please describe why you chose the DBA program and be sure to cite specific experiences and examples.
- Please explain why it is important for you to study at CBU.
- Please share your career goals and why you believe the DBA program will assist you in reaching those goals.
- Additional requirements may be requested.
ABD (All But Dissertation) Applicants
Applicants who have completed all doctoral coursework at an accredited institution
but have not yet completed their dissertation (ABD status) may be eligible for admission
into the Doctor of Business Administration program at CBU.
Qualified ABD applicants may:
- Be considered for advanced standing based on prior doctoral coursework (subject to evaluation and within transfer credit limits)
- Enter the program at the beginning of the research sequence, beginning with RCH705
- Be exempt from additional business coursework requirements, allowing them to focus on completing their dissertation
- Progress through the DBA research sequence, culminating in the Comprehensive Experience (BUS780)
- Upon successful completion of BUS780, be assigned a dissertation committee to guide them through the completion of their dissertation
This pathway is intended to support doctoral candidates who have completed the majority of their degree requirements and are seeking a structured, flexible environment to complete their dissertation and earn their doctorate.
