Studying chemistry will prepare you for a variety of careers. Many chemists work in industries that produce pharmaceuticals, cleaners, personal care products, plastics and thousands of other materials relied upon for everyday life. Adding a minor in chemistry can provide knowledge and skills to augment those of related majors (for example in biology and health science) or provide a level of technical expertise for students pursuing majors across the disciplines.

At CBU, you will learn under professors who are dedicated to their students. Because of the small student:faculty ratio, students get hands-on experience with a variety of modern instrumentation in recently constructed facilities.

A study of inorganic chemical systems including properties of atoms, molecules and ions, composition of matter, solutions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, gas laws, electronic structure of elements, chemical bonding and molecular geometry. Course content is presented at a level required for Chemistry and related science majors.
