Why Earn a MS in Kinesiology at CBU?

Perform research with faculty

Students benefit from core classes that teach fundamental research skills, ethical insight and legal awareness. Faculty routinely perform research and always bring students into the experience. We have state-of-the-art equipment to measure oxygen levels, cardiac outcomes, muscle function, immune parameters and environmental extremes. In our exercise physiology lab, we have a treadmill big enough for 6 people to run at the same time.

Join a legacy of alumni

The MS in Kinesiology offers a core curriculum and four concentration options which lead to the development of future leaders, clinicians, coaches and educators. Our students have gone on to work as exercise physiologists and in other kinesiology-related careers in hospitals and universities all across California and the country.

What You'll Learn

  1. MSKN students will demonstrate the ability to conduct, evaluate, and interpret data related to kinesiology.
  2. MSKN students will demonstrate the ability to make ethical choices grounded in an evangelical Christian worldview.
  3. MSKN students will demonstrate knowledge of legal issues in sport, exercise, and/or physical education, including the ability to construct a thorough risk management plan.
  4. MSKN students will demonstrate professionalism through oral communication, written communication, active involvement in the field, and computer technology competence.
  5. MSKN students concentrating in exercise science will be able to implement lab skills and strategies that enhance biomechanics, exercise, performance, nutrition, health, and wellness.
  6. MSKN students concentrating in exercise science will be able to apply basic physiology to areas of pathology, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription.
