Are there concentrations offered in the Master of Computer Science? Although we don’t have concentrations, students have the option to pick 4 depth areas
that they are most interested in.
What are the program's entry dates and application deadline? The Master of Computer Science program admits students in the Fall and Spring.
How long does the admission process take? Once an application file and/or interview is complete, applicants will typically be
notified of a decision within 3–5 business days.
What is the GPA requirement? Applicants are considered for admission based on GPA, transcripts, an essay OR interview,
and individual considerations. When reviewing transcripts, our minimum GPA requirement
is 2.75 or higher. If your cumulative GPA falls below this, please contact your admissions
counselor for additional routes that may be available.
Is there an accreditation for the Master of Computer Science? California Baptist University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University
Commission.
How long does the program take to complete? The Master of Computer Science program, is a 2-year program. However, our CBU students
currently pursuing a bachelor's in computer science. May complete in one year with
some Master level study during their undergraduate enrollment.
When do classes meet? Classes generally meet during the day and late afternoon.
Am I required to have work experience to enter the program? No. However, applicants should have some coursework completed in computer programming,
be able to demonstrate coding capacity and completed (or pursuing to complete) the
pre-requisite courses from a recognized university. If the applicant doesn’t have
any coursework/experience or pre-requisites, the department chair or program director
will ascertain proficiency or pre-requisite coursework.
Will I be able to get the classes I need when I need them? As a service to our Master of Computer Science students, your graduate advisor will
pre-register you for all of your courses, from your first semester through graduation,
when you enter the program. This allows you to plan out your life without worrying
about which course you should take next and which course will be offered in which
semester.
