One of the few programs of its kind in the country, the Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from CBU prepares professionals to offer critical psychological services to the criminal justice system.

The MA in Forensic Psychology program at CBU provides students with an advanced and comprehensive understanding of human development, the biological nature of crime, psychopathology, psychology and law, and criminal profiling.

Forensic psychology classes are scheduled to allow working professionals the opportunity to pursue their educational and career advancement. Graduates come away with the interdisciplinary knowledge to shape laws and policies that reflect human behavior. Students also develop an understanding of research methodology and its application to forensic psychology.
Work in the field
In the second year of study, students are involved in field experience and on-site supervision in a forensic setting. This may include working an FBI internship, with U.S. Marshalls, victim advocacy, trial advocacy, trial consultant firms, conflict resolution and mediation, rape crisis centers, probation, or parole.

designed to serve populations within criminal justice, nonprofit agencies, and local
government.
- Research: Students will synthesize advanced qualitative and quantitative research
methods to inform forensic psychology practice.

and professionalism of the institution and the field in their communication and demeanor.
- Faith Integration: Students will articulate general knowledge of the application of
a Christian worldview to the theories and practice of forensic psychology.
- Respect for Diversity: Students will critically examine the complex interaction between the social and cultural systems that influence perspectives and experiences of diverse religious, cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, age, sexual and philosophical groups.
Program Details
FPY 510: Biological Bases of Behavior
This course examines the biological bases of behavior and learning through the lifespan, including the fundamentals of brain development, neuropsychology, and more.
FPY 520: Criminal Profiling
The fundamentals of reconstructing the serial offenders’ motives and intent through examination of psychological evidence left by perpetrators at crime scenes
FPY 535: Advanced Psychopathology and Criminality
Nature and causes of reactions to social, biological and psychological stress and maladaptive developments with an emphasis on psychopathy and criminality.
