Why Earn a Performance Certificate at CBU?

Prepare for graduate coursework

The performance certificate serves as a bridge for students who desire more time to develop their performance abilities and are not yet ready to commit to enrolling in a graduate degree program in music. In this certificate program, students become prepared for an advanced degree, and all certificate coursework transfers toward the achievement of CBU's Master of Music degree.

Learn from knowledgeable faculty and mentors

CBU's distinguished School of Performing Arts faculty includes educators, conductors and performers with real-world experience teaching and performing in an array of private and public venues as well as educational and religious settings. CBU has a strong mentorship culture, which will benefit students in career preparation outside of the classroom.

Practice in a top-of-the-line facility

Students also benefit from our newest facility, the JoAnn Hawkins Music Building, equipped with the latest technology, including a multimillion dollar state-of-the-art recording studio, music labs, and 27 private rehearsal rooms each furnished with a baby grand piano.
