Virtual Registration Webinars

 

Participation is Optional

To help you through the registration process you can sign up for a live webinar using the links below. During the live webinar an Academic Advisor will cover:

  • Navigating InsideCBU
  • How to Read Your Registration Guide
  • Registration Resources
  • How to Search for, Add, Drop, and Swap Courses

All of this information has already been covered in the Virtual Orientation Class Registration pages. However, it may be helpful for some to see these processes in real time. If you already have a good understanding of the class registration process you will likely not need to attend a webinar.

You will also be able to ask questions and receive live feedback from an Academic Advisor using the webinar chat feature. 

Each webinar will last approximately 30 minutes.

Internet Browser Requirements: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You will not be able to attend the online webinar using Safari or Internet Explorer.

If you do choose to participate, be sure to sign up for a webinar that occurs before your registration deadline (7 days after receiving your registration guide via email).

 


 

  • How to Sign Up for a Webinar

     

    To sign up for a webinar:

    1. Find a webinar that occurs before your registration deadline (7 days after receiving your registration guide via email) and click the sign up link. A new tab / browser window will open.

    2. Read the webinar information in the left hand column, fill in your First Name, Last Name, and Email on the right side of the page. The Event Password will be autofilled. Do not edit this field. Click Register.

    3. On the next page, provide your First Name, Last Name, Email and Email Confirmation; Click the "No" button on the lower left side; Click Submit in the lower right hand corner.

    4. You are now registered for the webinar. Review the date and time and click Done.

    5. You will receive a confirmation email. Ten minutes before the webinar is scheduled to begin you can use the "Click here to join the online event" link in the email to join the webinar.

    6. Click the "Join by Browser" button. Do not click the "Join Now" button.

    7. Click the "Call Using Computer" option. Keep in mind that all attendees will be muted for the duration of the webinar. That means you can hear the Academic Advisor but he / she cannot hear you.

    8. If you are not using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox you will see the message outlined below. If you click the Switch to Desktop App you will be instructed to download and install WebEx software on your computer. We do not recommend this lengthy process. Again, be sure to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for this webinar.

    9. After selecting an audio option you will see a webinar screen similar to what you see below. An Academic Advisor will greet you once the webinar begins.
