College tours are the best way to get a feel for a campus. You can see the architecture, the best spots to hang out, go-to dining destinations, and much more! It’s during these tours that you will get a sense of the campus culture and if it’s the right fit for you.

You will hear a lot of information during a college tour. It’s important to have a list of questions that you want answered ready to go. From campus safety to number of students to hours the cafeteria is open, remember – there are no dumb questions.

How big is CBU? Our campus is 162 acres of beautiful land nestled in the Magnolia District in Riverside.

Each housing location is determined by a student’s year. Freshmen live in Smith Hall (men only), Simmons Hall (women only), The Cottages, Village and Tower Hall. Sophomores, juniors and seniors have a choice between in apartment-style housing including University Place, Lancer Arms, College Park, The Colony, Magnolia Crossing and The Point.

If I have food restrictions, will I be able to eat on campus? Absolutely! Provider Contract Food Service, our dining service, can accommodate the most common food allergies or dietary restrictions. 

If I visit campus, can I try one of the dining facilities? Yes! The admissions team will provide you with a meal ticket after your tour so you can get a real flavor for CBU.

If I come to tour campus, can I meet with an admissions counselor that day? Yes! Our admissions counselors are available to answer questions about everything from financial aid and academics to student life and more.

What is there to do in Riverside? Riverside is a growing city that still maintains its historic charm. The downtown area, which is less than 6 miles from CBU, is home to several unique and eclectic specialty shops, one of the largest antique districts in the Inland Empire and over 60 restaurant choices ranging from fine dining to fast food.

Midnight Madness happens every fall and is a crowd favorite! The Lancer community packs into the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center and enjoys a slam dunk contest and entertainment from the CBU men’s and women’s basketball teams. Other events include our Homecoming Weekend, Fortuna Bowl, Festival of Color and more! 

How safe is CBU? Here at CBU, we value the safety and security of the entire university community. Our Safety Services team works diligently 24-7 to ensure our students and campus environment are safe, secure and informed. We have established resources and multiple layers of security measures to ensure your safety and comfortability on our campus.

What are the top five majors at CBU? Currently, CBU’s top majors are business, psychology, nursing, kinesiology and exercise science.

How many students are from out of state? Eight percent of our undergraduate class is from out of state.

Can freshmen have cars on campus? Yes. You will have to register your car with Safety Services for a permit each year at no additional charge.

There are plenty of ways to cultivate community at CBU. We host a club fair every fall highlighting the various clubs on campus. It is a great opportunity to meet people with similar interests and learn more about something you love. We recommend attending campus and sporting events — they are a great way to meet new people and there is something for everyone.

Are tutoring services available? We have a university Tutoring Center and a Writing Center to help students achieve academic success.
