What will your talk be about?

My talk, “Jesus + Justice = J2,” is about understanding justice from the lens of Jesus Christ. The Kingdom of God is the great upside down. The world values power and prestige, and Jesus calls Christians to humility and dying to oneself. We will walk through the story of the Garden at Gethsemane and identify with different characters in the passage, ultimately landing squarely with Jesus.

Why is that topic so important to you?

I have struggled with trying to solve injustice with a human view and failed miserably. I want to share my stories of struggle and redemption in spending time with the true justice advocate – Jesus. I hope to help listeners walk away rejuvenated with a fresh perspective on the fight for justice. I want to help people live the life they were meant to live.

What are 2-3 points you hope the audience gets from the message?

  1. Are you sleeping your way to justice?
  2. Are you fighting your way to justice?
  3. The great surrender to God’s way to justice.
