CBU to celebrate Homecoming 2026

Riverside, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2026) – Thousands of visitors are expected to converge at California Baptist University for Homecoming on Feb. 27-28. The weekend features a variety of events designed to welcome alumni back to campus and help them reconnect during CBU’s 75th year. Alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and families are invited to join in the festivities and create new memories together.
“Homecoming is a special time where the entire Lancer Family is welcomed home to CBU. It's where generations of Lancers return to the place that shaped them,” said Josh Moss, senior director of alumni, parent and donor engagement.
The 75th anniversary aspect adds a special level of excitement for returning Lancers.
“What excites me most is seeing alumni from different decades come together with our
current students and their parents and recognize that they're all part of the same
story,” Moss said. “There's a unique energy when people return to campus, reconnect
with friends and mentors and see how CBU has grown while still holding on to the same
spirit that made it home for them.”
The weekend begins Friday evening with the carnival on the Front Lawn, a fun way to
reconnect, catch up and enjoy being back on campus. At the same time, the Spring Club
Market will be taking place, highlighting student involvement and giving alumni a
glimpse into the vibrant campus life of today.
Also, on Friday night, the Alumni Awards Dinner will hand out several honors, including the Young Alumni Achievement Award, the Alumni Service Award and Alumni Philanthropy Award. Alumni will also be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame.
Saturday offers a full day of opportunities to connect and explore. The day starts with the CBC Reunion Breakfast, for those who graduated in 1976 or earlier. Other alumni and families can enjoy a pancake breakfast and cornhole competition. Multiple CBU Adventure Tours will cart guests around campus, showcasing how CBU continues to grow.
Throughout the day, alumni can attend the lunch mixer, gather for academic program reunions and take part in the Hymn Sing.
“What really makes Homecoming special are the relationships,” Moss said. “That means classmates reconnecting, families experiencing campus together, and alumni pouring back into the next generation of students. The sense of genuine care for one another is what creates the Lancer spirit, and it's what turns a weekend into something lasting and impactful.”
Saturday evening begins with a pregame party before the men’s basketball game, featuring live music, food trucks and attractions. Then the Lancers, who currently are 19-8 overall, 9-5 conference, will tip off versus Tarleton State at the Fowler Events Center at 6 p.m.
