CBU to celebrate Homecoming 2024

Riverside, Calif. (Jan 25, 2024) – Thousands of visitors are expected to attend Homecoming at California Baptist University on Feb. 2-3.

The weekend is filled with activities and opportunities for alumni to return to campus and reconnect. Alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and families are invited to participate and make new memories.

This year CBU will celebrate the 10-, 25- and 50-year class reunions as well as honor alumni award winners and gather with over 4,000 alumni, parents and students on the Front Lawn for the Homecoming carnival.

“Homecoming is a wonderful time when generations of Lancers come together,” said Josh Moss, senior director of alumni, parent and donor engagement. “The weekend is full of activities that the entire Lancer community enjoys. It will be a weekend to remember.”

Friday evening’s entertainment will feature a carnival on the Front Lawn. The event will include attractions, rides and games. Student music groups from the Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Performing Arts will perform, and food trucks will be on hand as alumni and students mingle.

Also that evening, the Alumni Awards Dinner will hand out several honors: the Young Alumni Achievement Award, Alumnus of the Year, Distinguished Service in Christian Ministry, the Alumni Service Award and Alumni Philanthropy Award. Additionally, five Lancer Athletes will be inducted into the CBU Athletics Hall of Fame.

Saturday includes a 50-year reunion and breakfast for those who graduated in 1974 or earlier, 30-year reunion breakfast, campus tours, the hymn sing and a reunion mixer to connect with others from a specific college or school.

In the evening, a pregame party before the men’s basketball game will feature live music, food trucks, attractions and face painting. On the court, the Lancers, who currently are 11-7 overall, 4-3 conference, will face Seattle University.
