CBU Spirit Week set to initiate plenty of Lancer Pride

Riverside, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2019) – California Baptist University is celebrating Spirit Week from Feb. 4–9, with numerous ways for Lancers to come together in solidarity and school spirit.

On Feb. 5, the office of Community Life along with the International Center hosted the Lunar New Year Celebration in Innovators Auditorium. The event featured traditional celebration of the Asian New Year celebration. Food, games and culture activities highlighted the evening.

On Feb. 6, Spiritual Life at CBU, will host a Wake Up Wednesday event at the Village Suites lawn area. An outdoor coffeehouse will be set up, allowing students an opportunity to hang out, drink coffee and grab a tasty treat.

On Feb. 7, men’s basketball will host a Star Wars themed night for the game against Chicago State University at 7 p.m.

The following evening, Feb. 8, the Woo Fest will be held at the Fox Theater in downtown Riverside at 7 p.m. The event is a talent show for the Lancer male population.  

The culmination of Spirit Week will be Homecoming 2019. On Feb. 9, there will be class reunions at 9:30 a.m. for 50 years, 25 years and 10 years. There will also be a Henry LA Jekel Architecture presentation at 11 a.m.; a time of worship and hymn singing at 1:30 p.m.; and a pre-game party at 4:30 p.m. at the Events Center plaza. The evening is capped off by the men’s basketball game at 7 p.m. against the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
