woman's headshotRiverside, Calif. (April 8, 2026) – California Baptist University (CBU) announced this week that Dr. Stacy Meyer has been named dean of the Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education. Meyer currently serves as the school’s associate dean of administration, providing academic and instructional leadership and overseeing the strategic direction and quality of clinical practice. She will assume the role of dean on July 1, 2026.

"This is a full-circle moment for me, having first been introduced to CBU as a parent and now having the privilege to serve as dean,” said Meyer. “I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me. Since joining in 2018, I have witnessed the school’s remarkable growth. I look forward to building on that momentum by expanding programs, pursuing innovative ideas and advancing our mission with passion and purpose.”

Meyer brings a wealth of classroom experience having served in public, private, homeschool and international school settings. While at CBU, she has played a key role in developing initiatives for a student-support plan protocol, adjunct training and support, and education abroad opportunities. Her experience organizing and leading domestic and international short-term mission teams and serving on three International Service Project teams at CBU have translated into remarkable integration of education and service.

Beyond the university, she has advanced the profession of education through service on board or advisory roles with organizations such as Mosaic Legacy, Riverside County Office of Education, California Council on Teacher Education and the California Association for Bilingual Teacher Education. Meyer is also active in accreditation efforts, contributing to program compliance since 2021 and serving on California Commission on Teacher Credentialing review teams evaluating educator preparation programs for alignment with state standards.

“Dr. Meyer’s classroom experience combined with proven strategic leadership and global missions work makes her well suited to lead the School of Education,” said Dr. Chuck Sands, CBU provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs. “She brings a deep understanding of the needs of tomorrow’s educators and the vision necessary to advance the school’s impact and reputation.”

She succeeds Dr. Robin Duncan, who has led the college since 2018. The program experienced tremendous growth under Duncan’s leadership, adding new programs including a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership, bilingual authorization, and education specialist degrees in school psychology and educational leadership and administration. Additionally, the school established international initiatives to encourage and equip educators to think and serve globally.

“Education is always evolving, and Dr. Meyer is a strategic and visionary leader who will guide the School of Education into its next phase of success,” said Duncan. “She meaningfully integrates her faith into her instruction, engagement with faculty and staff, and all partners of the school. Her passion for equipping future teachers is evident, and her leadership will profoundly shape the lives of educators for years to come.”

Meyer earned her Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from San Diego State University, a multiple teaching credential from Chapman University, and a Master of Arts in school administration and Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Azusa Pacific University.

The Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education offers more than a dozen degree programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees, credentials and minors. Led by biblical truth, the school prepares globally minded educational leaders of high moral character who are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to create inclusive, lifelong learners.
