CBU Nurse Managed Health Clinic
The school of nursing established a nurse managed health clinic in Riverside in order to meet the need of the shortages of primary care physicians and primary care nurse practitioners in Riverside County. The shortage of primary care providers has contributed to poorer health outcomes in the county compared to other counties in California. The clinic serves as a future interprofessional faculty practice site and student practicum site for graduate and undergraduate students.

Called2Collaborate committee developed and presented an IPE (Interprofessional Education) workshop for faculty from various disciplines across the campus titled Called2Collaborate an Interprofessional Education: A Faculty Development Workshop. 48 Interdisciplinary faculty from the College of Health Science, School of Behavioral Health Sciences, and the College of Nursing including the Deans were in attendance at the two day workshop. This workshop provided an opportunity for university faculty to understand the national initiative on IPE and to work with multiple health related disciplines in planning IPE activities for use with students. The purpose of the workshop was to increase meaningful IPE experiences at CBU which will enhance student learning outcomes through collaboration with faculty from multiple health related disciplines. The conference included Dr. Hewitt Matthews vice president of health sciences at Mercer University as the keynote speaker.
