Master of Public Health

CBU's 47-unit Master of Public Health program is designed to prepare students to serve as practitioners, researchers and instructors in the area of public health at the local, state, national and international setting. Offered by the CBU Department of Public Health Sciences, the MPH program offers students the choice of two different concentrations:

  • Health Policy and Administration
  • Health Education and Promotion

The Master of Public Health program supports interdisciplinary communication, promotes a broad intellectual framework for problem solving and fosters the development of professional public health values. Graduates will be ready to begin their professional public health careers with a level of competence appropriate to stay current with developments in public health and related fields. Those interested in research careers will be prepared to engage in research that addresses community-relevant public health questions.

CBU's Master of Public Health degree is targeted toward working professionals with the desire to attend the program on a part-time basis over a two-year period. The program is designed for students working full-time during the day. All classes are, with the exception of the practicum, offered in the evenings in eight-week sessions.

The program includes instruction in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, health services and administration and social and behavioral science.

Applicants must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree for acceptance to the program. Professionals who already have an MD, DO, DVM, DDS, DPM, PharmD, NP, RN or PA are encouraged to apply.

Visit the Course Requirements page for more information about program content or submit the information request form to the right.
