Career Opportunities
A World of Opportunities
Teachers with advanced and specialized training in International Education are in high demand around the world. CBU’s Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in International Education prepares students to become effective teachers in K – 12, across all subjects, domestically as well as abroad.
Credentialed Teachers
Students in the program have the option to complete their Master’s degree while also pursuing a Single Subject and/or Multiple Subject credential qualifying them to teach in public schools, grades K-12, in California as well as overseas.
International Schools
Working with the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS) and other recruiting agents, we can connect graduates with teaching positions at 20 schools across 16 countries. NICS conducts recruiting events at the CBU campus every Spring, and actively seeks our students. Graduates hired by schools associated with NICS commit to teaching overseas for two years, earn a salary, and are welcome to bring spouses and families in most situations.
Non-International Schools
The program also prepares students to teach English in non-international schools, many of which actively recruit Americans as English instructors.
Other Overseas Settings
Beyond international and non-international schools, graduates of the program may also be interested in teaching or service positions at orphanages, missionary schools, non-profit agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). To learn more about the many rewarding professional opportunities that come with the Specialization in International Education, please attend an upcoming Graduate Program Information Session
