Exercise Science Concentration
The Exercise Science Concentration within the Master of Science in Kinesiology is designed to prepare clinical professionals for relevant certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and other organizations leading to employment in health, fitness and clinical exercise settings.
Sport Management Concentration
The Sport Management Concentration within the Master of Science in Kinesiology is designed to prepare sport professionals for a variety of management-related careers in athletic, recreation, and education settings. Potential career paths are virtually limitless, with new specialties continually emerging. The sport management curriculum follows the guidelines of the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) and includes specialized courses in sport law, marketing, economics and finance, event and facility management, and relevant field experience.
Physical Education Concentration
The Physical Education Concentration within the Master of Science in Kinesiology is designed to allow teaching professionals the opportunity to advance their careers, expand their proficiency, and increase their value at elementary and secondary institutions in public, private and religious schools. Concentration courses focus on physical and health education methods and curriculum development.
ANNOUNCING: Graduate Assistant in Exercise Science
The Master of Science in Kinesiology at CBU (MSKN) is seeking a Graduate Assistant (GA) to assist in administrative and laboratory duties related to the operation and maintenance of the exercise physiology laboratory. The GA will coordinate undergraduate kinesiology labs including calibrating equipment, instructing students about the equipment, assisting in data collection, formatting data to deliver to students, and cleaning equipment. The GA may also assist in data collection and analysis of ongoing research in the exercise physiology lab. Potential duties include: preliminary testing, supervising research trials, and data anaylsis. The succesful candidate will be certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. Candidates are also required to be admitted to the MSKN program, enrolled in at least three (3) units, and maintain at least a 3.00 grade point average.
The Graduate Assistant will receive as compensation a maximum stiped of $14,000, as well as the tuition matriculation fee paid in the form of a fellowship up to a maximum of thirty-four (34) units over a two year period.
