Fitness Philosophy: There is nothing better than seeing people make positive choices about their health and learning to take charge of their lives! Fitness is such a metaphor for life...you get out what you put in! I love that I have the opportunity to be a small part of those changes and can love and encourage others, wherever they are in their own journey!
Favorite Scripture: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge cloud of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance, the race that God has set before us." -Hebrews 12:1

Fitness Philosophy: It's simple: if you want to be healthy and fit, you must make it your lifestyle. True health is not achieved by "fad diets" or 12 week workout plans, it's a achieved through hard work, sweat, and dedication. It's as simple as that, it's just up to you if you're willing to commit.
Favorite Scripture: "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

Year: Junior
Hometown: Riverside, California
Certification:
Major: Music Composition
Areas of Specialization: Kickboxing, Step, Strength Training.
Fitness Philosophy: I believe in a total, complete healthy lifestyle. We should strive for whole living in all aspects of our life - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Each aspect affects each other and therefore works with each other. When a person is in great physical shape, they feel great, and more effectively handle life and get the most out of their life. They feel more confident, have more energy, and therefore are capable of accomplishing and achieving more.
Favorite Scripture: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17

Fitness Philosophy: In a country where more and more Americans are dealing with health issues due to poor eating and exercise habits, it's important to eat well and exercise regularly. I love Zumba because it is a way to exercise without feeling like you are exercising. Zumba is not just a workout, it is also a way to make great friends and minister to those in need.
Favorite Scripture: To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Courtney Davis
Year: Junior
Hometown: Dana Point, California
Certification: CPR, First Aid
Major: Behavioral Science
Areas of Specialization: Stretch, Strength and Conditioning
Fitness Philosophy: I have always been involved in sports and fitness throughout my life, so working out has constantly been part of my routine. However, college is where it gets more challenging to fit it into the crazy college kid schedule. I believe that making a workout fun and setting fitness goals, helps to keep you motivated to want to make it a priority to the college kid life. I found that Yoga, Pilates and Strength classes helped me stay fit, full of energy and excited to get to the gym.
Favorite Scripture: Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

Fitness Philosophy: I believe time should be taken out of our day to take care of our bodies by building up strength or learning something new. Whether you are working towards losing weight or gaining muscle, each person should find an exercise activity that is enjoyable to him or her, and use its results of acquired fitness to thrive in day to day life, serving God to the fullest.
Favorite Scripture: Psalm 30:11
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.

Psalm 16:11

Favorite Scripture: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8-10‬ NIV)

Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Certification: American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
Major: Kinesiology
Areas of Specialization: Step
Fitness Philosophy: I love helping others smile and feel good inside out, and group exercise is one of the ways I can do this. Staying fit and healthy shouldn't be stressful, like anything worth while, it takes patience, not pressure. We all have enough stress in our daily lives so I like to make sure some of it is relieved through fun fitness. Simply, I want to help others by adding a bit of joy to their lives so they can enjoy life with the ones they love to the fullest.

So you, you, you, and yes YOU TOO, come join in with us, every one of you (Ladies and Gentlemen) are welcome!

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
— Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)
