Boulder Bash - March 13th, 2014 7pm-10pm
This event is a climbing competition for all levels of climbers; students will be faced with new problems on the bouldering area as well as a chance to build community with other climbers at CBU. For more information, stop by the Recreation Center and talk with one of our climbing wall attendants.
Safety 101 (must be completed to use on the climbing wall)

Safety 101 is a safety class designed to equip the climbers with all the safety skills required to pass the climbing wall Top-Rope Safety (Belay) Test. All equipment is provided. Class is limited to six participants and will take about 30 to 45 minutes. Class and test will be offered throughout the semester. Please sign-up at the front desk.

Want a total body workout? Want to be pushed mentally and physically? Rock fitness is for you! Start with stretching and exercising specific muscle groups needed for rock climbing; finish with technique training and development. Develop your mental discipline and learn extreme physical control. It doesn't matter what level you are at now, this one hour class will push you to perform at your maximum.
February 21st – March 14th
Friday 5:00pm – 7:00pm
A four week course offered to instruct participants in lead climbing techniques and safety skills. Topics such as clipping stance, lead belay, and threading, as well as many others will be covered. This is a great way to start sport climbing. Participants will need to complete Safety 101 and be able to complete above a 5.9 climbing route. There will be a limited number of participants per lead climbing course. Please sign up at the Rec Center reception desk.

These are one-on-one personalized session instructed by our experienced Lead Climbing Attendants. Students will learn and practice techniques that will help them to improve their climbing skills such as silent feet, sticky hands, and use of different types of holds, body balance and movements as well as sequencing how to move through a route. Please sign up at the Rec Center reception desk for a time that fits with your schedule.
