Homecoming Awards Dinner Featuring David Garibaldi

California Baptist University's Homecoming Awards Dinner on Friday, November 1st, will feature world-renowned performance painter David Garibaldi, known for creating art on large canvases to the rhythm of music in front of audiences.

In his "rhythm and hue" performances, Garibaldi uses his passion for color and his love for music to create a unique piece of art and an unforgettable experience for the audience. To the musical works of Stevie Wonder, U2, and The Beatles, among others, Garibaldi transforms a large blank canvas into colorful art through his body movement and brushes. He became most widely recognized for his performances as a contender on the 7th season of America’s Got Talent, where he reached the finals and finished in fourth place.

“I create images in an entertaining way, and my hope is to inspire the audience to use their passion to benefit and inspire others,” Garibaldi said on his website. “That is music and color. That is rhythm and hue.”

Garibaldi fell in love with art at a young age, but it wasn’t until high school and the encouragement of one of his art teachers that he felt he could do something positive with his love for art. Garibaldi’s faith and personal mission statement, “living with passion and purpose”, have inspired his performances for charity events with non-profit groups, such as World Vision, Echoes of Hope and the Special Olympics, as well as performances for Fortune 500 companies, including, AT&T, Intel and Disney.

At the age of 29, Garibaldi has raised more than $1 million for charities and non-profits around the world.

Garibaldi’s performance at the Homecoming Awards Dinner will take place at the Recreation Center from 6 – 8 p.m., and tickets are available for purchase by the general public.

This event will also feature the 55-Buck Art Sale, which includes artwork by alumni, faculty, friends of the university and celebrity artists that will be sold for $55. For tickets contact eventsga@calbaptist.edu, call 951-343-4226, or visit www.calbaptist.edu/homecoming.
